The Life Cycle of a Bed Bug
Bed bugs are one of the most well-known pests, notorious for feeding on unsuspecting hosts while they sleep. Although small in size, they can quickly reproduce and survive for months without feeding, allowing undetected infestations to rapidly grow.
After feeding, bed bugs will move to secluded places to digest, mate and lay eggs.
Females can lay 1-5 eggs per day and are able to produce over 500 eggs during their lifetime.
Once they hatch, bed bug nymphs will develop into adults after about 21 days.
Although it only takes bed bugs about 5-10 minutes to feed, they are able to survive for several months without a blood meal.
