The National Pest Management Association reveals the most popular pests from this year 

FAIRFAX, Va. (December 13, 2023) – The year is almost wrapped up and 2023 was quite the season of pest activity! In reviewing annual data collected from artificial intelligence research, online surveys with The Harris Poll, social media trends, website analytics of its consumer site PestWorld.org and more, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA) has determined the top pests of 2023. And the awards go to… 

2023 Top Pests in The Home: This list reveals the pests Americans encountered the most in their homes this year, according to an NPMA online survey conducted by The Harris Poll. 

  1. Spiders  

  1. Ants  

  1. Flies  

  1. Mosquitoes  

  1. Cockroaches  

  1. Rodents (e.g., rats, mice)  

  1. Occasional invaders (e.g., house centipedes, moths, silverfish, stinkbugs, spotted lanternflies)  

Most Terrifying Pests of 2023: From Musophobia to Cnidophobia, these are the pests Americans are most afraid of encountering in their homes, according to an NPMA online survey conducted by The Harris Poll

  1. Spiders 

  1. Bed bugs 

  1. Stinging insects (e.g., wasps, hornets)
